In his heart...It wasn't the weight of her dress or the force of the water. In his heart...
It was Death.
The pitch blackness of the end grabbed at her frail ankles--pale and cold, wet and broken--and pulled. They did not tug, nor did they taunt; they pulled hard and fast.
Down,
down,
down.
It filled her mouth, her nose and her lungs.
Death did it. And he'll do it again; sharp and quick, never-ending. As soon as he's through with her, he'll move on to another. And he will end this life as he'd done before.
No one ever knows where their name resides on Death's list

Who are you? GOD
I'd like to meet you. Ask questions. Maybe not. I'd just smile and thank you.
Probably.
God.
I'm afraid. Of people. I'm sorry for people that don't want to know you.
I am afraid. Of people that hate you.
Why would one hate
you?
You.
God.
GOD is just a name.
We don't know you. All we do is study you. We're informed of you.
I want to know.
Someday.
